Privacy

Last updated October 14, 2026

Dashdle has no accounts, no ads and no ad trackers, and we never sell data. This page lists everything the game keeps and why.

On your device

Your progress lives in your browser's local storage: streak and streak freezes, past results, achievements, practice and archive stats, and your reminder setting. It never leaves your device (except the anonymous ID below), and clearing the site's data in your browser deletes it. The only cookie is a short-lived security token (against forged requests) set when you open a submission or feedback form.

Gameplay statistics

When you guess, we add one to that level's guess counters, and when you finish a daily or elite set we add one to that day's score distribution. These are plain counts with nothing that identifies you; they power the community stats and the "you beat X% of players" line.

Analytics

We count how the game is used (visits, pages, modes played, guesses, streak lengths, shares, where visits come from) as daily totals. Each count is tagged with your country, which our CDN (Cloudflare) works out from your IP address, and a rough device type (phone or desktop, operating system, browser). The IP address and the full browser string are not stored.

Outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the game also keeps a random anonymous ID in local storage. It lets us measure how many players come back (daily/monthly players, retention). Stored with it are the days it was active, which modes were played on those days, its country and device type. It is not linked to any name, account or IP address, and it is deleted after 400 days without a visit. No ID is created in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, or when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track; if one exists and you visit from one of those places, it is deleted. You can also remove it at any time by clearing the site's data.

Abuse protection

To stop spam and stat stuffing, requests are rate-limited by IP address. Those limit counters expire on their own within 24 hours.

Things you send us

Daily reminders (optional): your browser's push subscription and the hour you picked, kept until you turn reminders off or the subscription stops working.

Level submissions: the level ID, YouTube link and the name you enter. Submitted videos are checked by an AI model (Google Gemini via OpenRouter) before an admin reviews them.

Feedback: your message and whatever contact you choose to leave.

Other services

Gameplay videos come from YouTube, which only loads once you press play and is then covered by Google's privacy policy. The "Support us" button loads a Ko-fi widget on desktop. The site is served through Cloudflare and hosted on Railway.
